What's on

The Shoebox Theatre offers an exciting and varied programme of contemporary theatre and new work from both local and touring companies.

Our story

The Shoebox Theatre is a multi-purpose performance and arts space based in the heart of Swindon's Railway Village. As well as hosting a programme of contemporary theatre and new work, it also provides access to quality actor and performance training. The theatre is managed by Wrong Shoes Theatre Company with the aim of providing an affordable space to develop new work and support emerging artists - a place where creativity is nurtured and risk-taking thrives!

"A brilliant little theatre with such a dedicated team behind it. Creating a lot of refreshing material and making a real difference to Swindon's theatre scene."

Learn and train

The Shoebox Theatre offers training opportunities for complete beginners through to professional actors. With weekly evening classes and weekend masterclasses we have something for everyone.

Who we work with

As well as an experienced resident Artistic Director, the Shoebox Theatre has an excellent team of associate artists, who run workshops and masterclasses.

In addition, Billie Piper is an active patron of the Shoebox Theatre and is involved in projects throughout the year.
