Luke Marquez

Luke is an experienced Director specialising in contemporary theatre and arts education. 


Having graduated from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with an MA in Applied Theatre, he went on to establish Wrong Shoes Theatre Company and the Shoebox Theatre, through which he creates and programmes contemporary theatre and new work.


He has also worked with other theatres and arts education organisations including the Pegasus Theatre, Oxford and Prime Youth Theatre. In addition, he has a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts and a PGDE in Drama. Luke has been providing one-to-one tuition and theatre workshops for over 12 years, working within a professional and community context, as well as within formal education. 


As a Director he works with both scripted and devised theatre, experimenting with experiential performance and encouraging the audience to engage with the work. He often creates theatre in unusual settings, combining a range of disciplines and a collaborative approaches to theatre making.
